Formerly known as Country House Antique Textiles, Donna Flower is based in a country house in rural Devon and specialises in vintage, retro and antique textiles. 

We sell unique and one-off antique fabrics from the 19th Century, retro fabrics from the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's to vintage-inspired fabrics of today. We have fabrics for the modernist or retro house and textiles to suit the Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, country chic or shabby chic home. 

Scouring French flea markets, auctions, textile fairs and thrift shops we regularly source  quilts, eiderdowns, curtains, buttons, lace and ribbons as well as faded floral fabrics, feedsacks and vintage children's fabrics. If there is a particular fabric or vintage item you are looking for please ask us, we are only too happy to help.

Even as a little child Donna appreciated vintage fabrics. Her mother wore beautiful vintage 1920's, 30's and 40's dresses in the 1960's and 70's as these were cheap and easily picked up at jumble sales. Donna loved the little floral prints, the feel of the cottons and crepe de chines. In the 1980's Donna wore 1950's dresses that she  picked up at the weekly jumble sales where she looked for individual clothing. Donna wanted, more than anything, to look different to all those girls wearing High Street clothes. She remembers the big full skirts with many petticoats and how special they felt to wear, the swishing noise they made as you walked or danced. Donna also made a lot of her own clothes and would be frantically sewing on a Saturday so that she could wear her outfit that night!

More recently Donna discovered a love of quilting and patchwork. She came across feedsack fabrics from USA which is something that  is not part of our cultural history. She bought these, and other vintage fabrics, which became a collection that has now grown to gigantic proportions.  From her searches  Donna has sourced some rare and unusual fabrics, some of which she uses and some that she collected to sell one day. Donnaflower.com has developed from this collection and is the realisation of a dream for Donna.   She endeavours to continue finding beautiful vintage fabrics and homewares to bring to you creating this online textile fair for you to enjoy!
